ABEMA Names 3 Finalists in Project PRISMation Open Call

Waboku, orange and Dominique Garrow each receive production funding for a short original anime pilot, ABEMA said.

ABEMA announced on Friday the three finalists of the first open call of its Project PRISMation initiative, a program for independent animators. The selected entries are OXY-HEAVEN by Waboku, Amneka by orange and Kandy-Killers for Hire by Dominique Garrow, according to animenewsnetwork.com.

Each of the three entries will receive production funding for a short original anime pilot. The pilots are slated for release next year or later.

OXY-HEAVEN is described as a fantasy ensemble drama set in a steampunk world at a cafe on a ship-nation called Eden. Amneka is a fantasy comedy about six students and one teacher at a small school. Kandy-Killers for Hire is a psycho-pop dark comedy about an assassination startup in a neon city.

ABEMA will support the works through development, Japanese and English voice casting, sound and music, translation, promotion and commercial development.

Waboku is an animation artist and illustrator who directed music videos including Eve's "As You Like It" and ZUTOMAYO's "Byoushin wo Kamu." Orange is an up-and-coming filmmaker, and Dominique Garrow is a freelance illustrator from the United States active in the VTuber community.

ABEMA held the open call from May to August 2026. The project previously released pilots including "Poppin-Play Kitchen" on January 16, "Gluttomy" on January 23 and "The Horrors' Horror Home" by Uguisu Kobo, director Rushio Moriyama and writer Yuya Matsuzaki on January 30.
