DC Comics Releases Absolute Green Lantern #19, Introducing the Yellow Aliens
Absolute Green Lantern #19 is out now, expanding the Absolute Universe's light spectrum where yellow represents an immaterial force rather than an emotion.
DC Comics has released Absolute Green Lantern #19, an issue that introduces the Yellow Aliens and expands the lore of the Absolute Universe's light spectrum. The issue is available now.
According to screenrant.com, the Yellow Aliens explain the nature of the yellow spectrum in the Absolute Universe. Unlike the main DC continuity, where the light spectrum is tied to emotions, the Absolute Universe's spectrum reflects stages of cosmic awareness.
Within this framework, gold is described as a material substance and the signifier, while yellow is an immaterial force and the signified.
In the main DC continuity, Thaal Sinestro forged the first yellow power ring, creating a weapon to exploit the Green Lantern Corps' psychological cracks. The Green Lanterns and Sinestro Corps have made peace in that continuity, yet the deadlock between fear and willpower continues to define cosmic macro-politics.
