Audible Sets Nov. 5 Launch for Exoplanet Audio Drama
Benjamin Percy wrote the Audible Original, executive produced by Andy Weir and starring Anthony Mackie, Ariana DeBose and John Leguizamo.
Audible will release the Audible Original audio drama "Exoplanet" exclusively on its platform on Nov. 5, the company announced. The production is written by Benjamin Percy, author of "The Ninth Metal" and "Red Moon," with Andy Weir serving as executive producer.
The full-cast production stars Anthony Mackie, Ariana DeBose and John Leguizamo as a starship crew. According to Polygon, the story follows that crew after a quantum anomaly splits its members onto the same planet in different time periods.
On that planet, the crew is hunted by an alien intelligence that wants to use human technology to manipulate the future.
Weir wrote "The Martian" and "Project Hail Mary," both of which were adapted into blockbuster films. In "The Martian," stranded astronaut Mark Watney uses the Pathfinder probe to contact NASA, while in "Project Hail Mary," Wyland Grace records messages to send to Earth with samples of Taumoeba and waits years to learn whether his mission succeeded.
