Netflix's Bass X Machina Anime Premieres November 3, 2026

Brian Tyree Henry voices Bass Reeves in the steampunk series from Studio Mir, developed by LeSean Thomas.

Netflix will premiere the anime series Bass X Machina on November 3, 2026, the streamer has announced. The series reimagines the lawman Bass Reeves in a steampunk West.

Brian Tyree Henry voices Bass Reeves, a character depicted with a cybernetic arm containing built-in guns. Animation is handled by Studio Mir, the studio behind Avatar: The Last Airbender, which also worked on X-Men '97, My Adventures with Superman and Netflix's Devil May Cry.

LeSean Thomas developed the series and serves as executive producer alongside Brian Tyree Henry. Thomas' prior credits include The Legend of Korra, The Boondocks and the Netflix original anime Cannon Busters; in 2021 he brought Yasuke to Netflix with studio MAPPA.

The series' setting mixes steam-powered robots, floating trains and supernatural terrors into Reeves' story. News of the premiere date was reported by collider.com.
