Black Clover Season 2 Premieres October 3, 2026 on TV Tokyo

Black Clover Season 2 is officially set to premiere on October 3, 2026, with the first episode airing on TV Tokyo and affiliated networks at 11:00 PM JST. The announcement ends a wait that has stretched for more than five years since the anime's last episode.

Crunchyroll is expected to stream the new season internationally, though an exact simulcast hour has not been confirmed. In Japan, streaming services Anime Times, Lemino, U-NEXT and Anime Hodai will begin carrying episodes on October 4 at 12:00 PM JST, with additional Japanese platforms receiving the series from October 8.

An English dub is also planned, but its premiere date has not been revealed. The series is produced by Studio Pierrot, based on Yuki Tabata's manga.

What Happened Before the Hiatus

Black Clover Episode 170 aired in March 2021, after which the anime went on hiatus for over five years. That episode revealed the devil Liebe's name and his connection to Asta's mother, Licita, while Yuno learned he was born into the royal family of the Spade Kingdom. Yami Sukehiro and William Vangeance were captured by the Dark Triad.

In 2023, the franchise returned with the film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, released on Netflix. The new season picks up the story from where the television anime left off.
