TOHO Animation announced that a new sequel anime titled Dr. Stone Terraforming is in production, according to screenrant.com. TMS Entertainment, which produced the main Dr. Stone anime, is producing the sequel.
Dr. Stone Terraforming is billed as a sequel continuing the story after Dr. Stone: Science Future, and is expected to adapt the events of the Dr. Stone manga's chapter 232.1 epilogue from the 27th volume.
The story follows Senku Ishigami and the Kingdom of Science after they return to Earth, with Senku planning to build a time machine to rescue the rest of humanity. Characters including Kohaku, Taiju Oki, Yuzuriha Ogawa, Luna Wright and Xeno Houston Wingfield are part of the series, with Yusuke Kobayashi voicing Senku and Makoto Furukawa voicing Taiju.
The original Dr. Stone manga debuted over nine years before the article, with art by Boichi. The anime's previous installment, Dr. Stone: Science Future, ended with a 'To Be Continued' tagline after exploring the mystery of Why-Man and bringing the crew back to Earth.
