Bandai Namco's TAMASHII NATIONS division has teased the return of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED MSV, reborn as Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM MSV. The project will launch in the December 2026 issue of Monthly Hobby Japan, which goes on sale October 23.
Mechanical designer Kunio Okawara is creating new special-spec mobile suit variants for the line, while writer Shigeru Morita is developing technical profiles and backstories for the machines.
HOBBY JAPAN will produce custom Gundam plastic model kits based on the new designs. One design has already been teased, appearing to combine elements of the Murasame and the Rising Freedom Gundam.
A Cosmic Era comeback
Over two decades ago, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED launched the Cosmic Era timeline. The Cosmic Era MSV line has not been visited in almost 20 years, though the timeline has received a major push throughout the 2020s.
