Ibanez, Dragon Ball Z unveil guitar and pedal line for early 2027
The line includes more than 10 items, among them Son Goku- and Vegeta-themed guitar and bass models and a Tube Screamer TS808 pedal.
Ibanez and Dragon Ball Z have announced a collaboration line of more than 10 products, including electric guitars, basses, effects pedals, picks and straps, according to animeanime.jp. The items are scheduled to go on sale in Japan and other countries and regions from early 2027 at authorised Ibanez dealers.
The centrepiece models are an electric guitar and a bass themed on Son Goku's and Vegeta's Super Saiyan awakening, with visuals of both characters on the body top. A Made in Japan version of Ibanez's RG electric guitar depicts Son Goku and Son Gohan flying with Bukujutsu, and comes with a certificate, strap and picks in a model-exclusive design.
Pedals, straps and apparel
The lineup also includes a specially designed model based on the Tube Screamer TS808 overdrive pedal, along with picks, straps, guitar bags, a Piccolo guitar and T-shirts. Ibanez is a brand of Japanese instrument maker Hoshino Gakki.
Ibanez said further details will be announced on its official website and social media. The collaboration draws on Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball, which ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1984 and was adapted into anime in 1986.
More recent entries in the franchise include the 2022 film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, which topped the opening weekend box office in Japan and the United States, and Dragon Ball DAIMA, a 20-episode series with Toriyama credited for the original work, story and character designs that aired from October 2024.
