Apothecary Diaries Film Adds 6 Cast, 2 Character Trailers
The Kusuriya no Hitorigoto movie Bouhi no Hihou opens in Japanese theaters on December 11, 2026, with six more cast members and two character trailers revealed.
The official website for the Kusuriya no Hitorigoto anime series revealed additional cast and two character trailers for the anime movie on Tuesday. The film, subtitled Bouhi no Hihou (The Secret Treasure of the Deceased Consort), opens in Japanese theaters on December 11, 2026.
Six voice actors join the cast: Nobuo Tobita as Birou, Kumiko Watanabe as Shuu-u, Hirofumi Nojima as Bisen, Kensho Ono as Suija, Ryouta Takeuchi as Eishou and Jirou Saitou as Kaja. The two character trailers are the Bi clan version and the Kajadan version.
Norihiro Naganuma is directing at TOHO animation STUDIO, with Yuuko Kakihara writing the script. Yukiko Nakatani is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director, and Satoru Kousaki, Kevin Penkin and Alisa Okehazama are composing the music.

The franchise began in October 2011, when Hyuuga started writing the novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website; Shufunotomo began publishing it under its Hero Bunko imprint with illustrations by Touko Shino in August 2014. Nekokurage launched a manga adaptation in Big Gangan in May 2017, and Minoji Kurata began a second manga adaptation in Sunday Gene-X in August 2017. The anime's first season aired 24 episodes in Fall 2023, followed by a 24-episode second season in Winter 2025, streamed by Crunchyroll outside Asia.
