Bandai Unveils Macross 45th-Anniversary Max Jenius VF-1J

Tamashii Nations showed the DX Chogokin VF-1J Super Valkyrie in Maximilian Jenius's indigo colors, priced at 36,300 yen for March 2027.

Bandai Spirits' Tamashii Nations has unveiled the DX Chogokin VF-1J Super Valkyrie (Maximilian Jenius Use), a collectible tied to the 45th anniversary of Super Dimension Fortress Macross, according to cbr.com. The model is scheduled for release in 2027.

The figure carries an indigo color scheme with printed markings matching Maximilian Jenius's personal VF-1. It ships with Super Parts: 2 HMMP-02 Micro-Missile Pods and 6 RMS-1 Large Anti-Ship Reaction Missiles.

The DX Chogokin model has a die-cast metal internal frame and transforms among Fighter, Gerwalk and Battroid modes without parts swapping. It is made of PVC and pre-painted ABS plastic.

Tamashii Nations lists store availability for March 2027 at a retail price of 36,300 yen, around US$230.

Macross Modelers grows

The VF-1 Valkyrie debuted in the original 1982 Super Dimension Fortress Macross anime, and VF-1J versions were assigned to senior officers and squad leaders during the First Space War. In early October, Good Smile Company joined the Macross Modelers initiative alongside Aoshima Bunka Kyozai, Hasegawa, WAVE, Jujimi Mokei, Max Factory and Bandai Spirits.
