Matsurika Kanriden Anime Adds Hiyori Kouno, Takuya Satou to Cast
The Matsurika Kanriden TV anime has cast Hiyori Kouno as Ro Lian and Takuya Satou as Akatsuki. It premieres in January 2027.
The official website for the Matsurika Kanriden television anime announced on Thursday that Hiyori Kouno and Takuya Satou are joining the cast as Ro Lian and Akatsuki, respectively.
The series is scheduled to premiere on Tokyo MX, MBS, TV Aichi, and BS11 in January 2027. Yuuichi Nakazawa is directing at Maho Film, with Touko Machida on series composition, Manami Inose designing characters, and Takurou Iga composing the music.
The anime adapts Rinne Ishida's historical fantasy light novel Matsurika Kanriden, which debuted under Kadokawa's B's-LOG Bunko imprint in July 2017 with illustrations by Izumi. Kadokawa published the 18th volume in October 2025.
A manga adaptation by Waka Takase has been running in Monthly Princess since August 2018, and Akita Shoten released its 12th volume in October 2025. A spin-off manga, On My 13th Birthday, I Became an Empress by Mito Aoi, began in Monthly Princess in March 2020, and its ninth volume went on sale on March 16.
The light novel was announced to receive a TV anime adaptation in September 2025.
