MediaOCD to Sell Mahjong Pros, Manga Mavericks Books Manga

MediaOCD announced on October 5, 2026, a sales agreement with the Independent Manga Alliance to sell physical editions of manga from Mahjong Pros and Manga Mavericks Books on the MediaOCD online store, according to Anime News Network.

The MediaOCD store currently lists titles including ALTERNATIVE[SELF LINER NOTE], First Time in Taiwan: A Delicious Adventure, FISHGOD, Great Metal God, Horon of the Closed Country, Princess Da Huang & Other Tales, The Pipe Machine, Vegetable Sandwich, and Zigoku's Foreman.

Background

The Independent Manga Alliance was announced in July 2026 as a joint venture between Manga Mavericks CEO Varun Gupta and Mahjong Pros head of partnerships and licensing Harrison Doan. Its founding members are Manga Mavericks Books, Mahjong Pros, Strict Algorithm LLC, Red String Manga, and Curation Entertainment Partners Inc. Manga Mavericks Books was established in April 2025 as a publishing division of the Manga Mavericks website and podcast, licensing and localizing works from indie Japanese creators. In February 2026, it entered distribution deals with Pathway Book Service and Gazelle Book Services Ltd for Europe, and in June 2025, Mahjong Pros announced its Mahjong Pros Publishing imprint.
