Bandai Sets MGSD Kshatriya Re-Release via Premium Bandai Lottery
The MGSD Kshatriya Gunpla sold out within days of launch; applications for the Japan lottery sale run through Nov. 2.
Bandai has scheduled a re-release of the MGSD Kshatriya model kit after the Gunpla sold out within days of its initial release, according to cbr.com. The first round of the new run will be offered in Japan through a Premium Bandai lottery sale, with applications open through Nov. 2.
The kit stands roughly 15.5 centimeters tall when completed and includes 28 runners in nine colors. Bandai describes it as the largest Master Grade SD Gunpla model kit officially released to date.
The Kshatriya, designated NZ-666, is the first non-Gundam Mobile Suit to join the MGSD line. In the story it is piloted by Marida Cruz in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, the anime adaptation of Harutoshi Fukui's novels.
Fukui's Gundam Unicorn novels debuted in 2007, with the 10-volume main story concluding in 2009. The franchise later expanded with the Bande Dessinée Episode: 0 prequel manga and the Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 television re-edit of the original OVA series.
Bandai has not indicated whether further re-release rounds will follow the Premium Bandai lottery.
