Kamiyama Says Jedi Order Created Darth Vader in The Ninth Jedi Interview
The director also explained why Lah Kara chose compassion over lethal justice when she confronted Nawaam in the Star Wars: Visions series.
Kenji Kamiyama, director of Star Wars: Visions Presents — The Ninth Jedi, said in a recent interview that the Jedi Order did indeed create Darth Vader, according to cbr.com. Kamiyama made the remark while discussing the series with producer Hitoshi Ito.
Kamiyama said he told his team that real justice brings fairness and equality, and that the Jedi Order did not fully have either. The director's reading places responsibility for Vader's fall with the Order itself rather than with a single character.
The interview also covered the moment Lah Kara, the young Jedi at the centre of the story, chooses to spare the Force-sensitive warlord Nawaam. Kamiyama said he intended the choice to save Nawaam's spirit through compassion and kindness rather than to kill him.
Nawaam was introduced in the first episode of The Ninth Jedi, "A New Threat," as the leader of an army seeking to eradicate the Jedi. The character's path later brings him into confrontation with Lah Zhima and Lah Kara, and Kara ultimately defeats him and restrains herself so that he can face justice instead of death.
