PS5 Anime Hub Confirmed for Spring 2027, Ghost of Tsushima Anime Delayed to 2028
Sony's Hideaki Nishino announced the dedicated anime hub at Crunchyroll's Anime Future Forum, where the Ghost of Tsushima anime slipped to 2028.
Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Hideaki Nishino said the PlayStation 5 will get a dedicated anime hub on the console's main user interface by Spring 2027, according to cbr.com. The hub is intended to let users discover new anime and anime-related games, with access to the full Crunchyroll app and its titles.
The feature was announced during Crunchyroll's inaugural Anime Future Forum. Alongside the hub, the release window for the upcoming anime adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends was pushed to 2028.
Ghost of Tsushima anime slips a year
The Ghost of Tsushima anime had originally been slated for a 2027 streaming release. It is produced by Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Sony Music and PlayStation Productions.
The franchise began with Sucker Punch Productions' Ghost of Tsushima, which sold around 13 million units globally, and continued with the 2025 PS5 sequel Ghost of Yotei.
Crunchyroll has broadened its distribution this year, with the company announcing a launch on Apple TV earlier in 2026 and, in June, a special bundle with STARZ through Amazon Prime Video.
