After the JR Tokyo Station launch on October 16, 2026, the items move to a shop at JR Mitaka Station from November 4, 2026, and then to Ecute Ueno from November 9, 2026.
Suica no Penguin, designed by Chiharu Sakazaki and modeled on an Adelie penguin, has been a familiar figure since Suica's debut in 2001. It was decided that the character will 'fly to a new place' at the end of fiscal 2026, in March 2027, and on September 8, 2026, JR East began a vote to choose a new character design, revealing three final candidates.
