The second season of the Thunder 3 anime is scheduled for 2027, it was announced following the airing of the first season's 12th and final episode on Thursday. A teaser promotional video was released alongside the announcement.
The first season, produced by Unend, aired in 12 episodes on July 9. Netflix simulcast the anime with subtitles worldwide.
The original manga by Yuuki Ikeda ran in Kodansha's Monthly Shounen Magazine from May 2022 to June 2026. The tenth and final volume was published by Kodansha on August 17. The eighth volume went on sale on February 10.
Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English through Vertical Comics in March 2024. In the 2024 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings, Thunder 3 placed fourth in the Male Readers' category.
