USJ Adds Fullmetal Alchemist, Daemons of the Shadow Realm for 2027
Both collaborations open in spring 2027 as limited-time programs, and Daemons of the Shadow Realm marks its first theme park tie-in.
Universal Studios Japan announced on October 28, 2026, that Fullmetal Alchemist and Daemons of the Shadow Realm will both be part of Universal Cool Japan 2027. The two collaborations are scheduled to open in spring 2027 as limited-time programs, according to news.denfaminicogamer.jp.
For Daemons of the Shadow Realm, the attraction is the first collaboration between the work and a theme park. The manga by Hiromu Arakawa is serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan and has more than 7.5 million copies in circulation, and a second season of its TV anime has been decided.
Fullmetal Alchemist, also by Arakawa, returns to the park for a second collaboration. Its first USJ event was the Fullmetal Alchemist Premier Tour, held in spring 2005, which the park described at the time as its first collaboration with a Japanese TV anime.
