VIZ Media to Reveal New Naruto Anime Film at NYCC 2026 Panel

VIZ Media has confirmed that a new animated Naruto film is in the works, with its worldwide premiere to be announced during the Naruto panel at New York Comic Con 2026 on October 10, according to screenrant.com. The panel, titled 'NARUTO: What's Next?', will also unveil new information and the first promotional video for the NARUTO CARD GAME.

The session is teased to include surprise announcements regarding other media developments, and event social channels and the official YouTube livestream mention a 'New NARUTO TV Anime Limited Series'. VIZ Media stated there is no further point of reference or clarity beyond their current press release at this moment.

The confirmation follows a period of silence for the franchise. It has been three and a half years since the last anime TV or movie release, with Boruto: Naruto Next Generations episode 293 standing as the most recent installment, in which Naruto's son makes a miraculous return. As VIZ Media's press release and further reporting via Variety suggested last month, the most concrete announcement so far was for a new animated Naruto film.

Earlier milestones included the March 9, 2023 announcement during Naruto's 20th Anniversary celebration that four brand-new episodes would arrive in September of that year. A new key visual of Team 7 was released on July 22, 2023, before the franchise went quiet ahead of its anticipated limited weekly run set for September 3.

Meanwhile, the Boruto 10th Anniversary special site portal is teasing another announcement.
