A demo of 500 Finger Fillet, a roguelite built around stabbing a knife between your fingers 500 times, is available now as part of Steam Next Fest, ahead of the game's full release on November 12.
A run is split into rounds of 50 stabs, with a break and a shop at the halfway point. In the shop, players can pick up items including medication for pain, tablets for blood loss and rings that boost stats.
Between rounds, players also choose a new weapon, each with its own surface area, severe percentage and special conditions. A meta-progression system carries over between failed attempts, so progress made in one run persists into the next.
The premise draws on Five Finger Fillet, the knife game in which a blade is jabbed into the spaces between outstretched fingers.
