A Tale of Two Wastelands RTX Remix Footage Shows Path-Traced Fallout
A YouTube channel posted video of the Fallout 3 and New Vegas mod running with path-traced lighting, ray reconstruction and neural rendering.
Footage of the A Tale of Two Wastelands mod running with RTX Remix was uploaded by a YouTube channel called YouTube Viewer, showing the Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas crossover with upgraded graphics. DSO Gaming first reported the footage, according to screenrant.com.
The video shows path-traced lighting, ray reconstruction, neural rendering and improved textures applied to the mod's rebuilt world.
A Tale of Two Wastelands ports Fallout 3's data and world spaces into the Fallout: New Vegas engine. A single continuous character can travel between the Capital Wasteland and the Mojave by train, with a level cap of 60.
The mod also brings New Vegas systems into the mix, including crafting, the companion wheel and aim down sights.
The creator has not yet released the setup publicly in one package, so there is no download that bundles the RTX Remix changes together.
Older Fallout context
Fallout 3 was released on October 28, 2008. Bethesda is working on Fallout 5, though The Elder Scrolls VI is its priority for now, and remakes of Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3 are said to be in production.
