Alchemortis demo launches on Steam for Next Fest
The Cthulhu-inspired backpack auto-battler offers two playable characters and dozens of items to combine in its Steam Next Fest demo.
Alchemortis released a playable demo on Steam on October 23, 2026, as part of Steam Next Fest, according to gamemeca.com. The game is a backpack auto-battler set in a world inspired by Cthulhu.
In the demo, players place materials such as abyssal tentacles, cleric relics and venomous reagents into an alchemy cauldron to refine items and relics and assemble their loadout. Two characters are playable, with dozens of items and relics available to combine.
Builds highlighted in the demo include Plague Source, Summoner of Death and Abyssal Creature. Every slot in the backpack grid must be used strategically, since placing items next to each other triggers synergy resonances.
Defeating bosses expands the edges of the grid and unlocks hidden four-direction abilities. At fog-covered crossroads, players can risk their sanity to fight strong enemies, or look for an obelisk to change the fate of the stage.
A meta-progression system lets players accumulate forbidden knowledge, activate ancient technology in a forge outside the game, and unlock lost relics, unknown elixirs and school disciples.
