Koei Tecmo sets March 18, 2027 release for The Apothecary Diaries game
The mystery adventure, built on an original concept by author Natsu Hyuga, arrives on Switch 2, Switch, PS5 and Steam at 8,580 yen.
Koei Tecmo Games announced on October 21, 2026 that its mystery adventure game based on The Apothecary Diaries will launch on March 18, 2027. The release date was confirmed alongside a second promotional movie, according to gamebiz.jp.
The game will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Steam at a standard price of 8,580 yen including tax.
The title is a completely new story, with an original concept by the original author, Natsu Hyuga. It introduces new original characters: a traveling stage actor, a high official of the Shangyi Bureau, and a regular customer of the Rokushoukan.
Players can explore as the protagonist Maomao, but also as the rear palace manager Jinshi and as the cat. A character investigation system lets players deepen intimacy by completing requests, a medicine-making mini-game is assisted by the quack doctor Luomen, and achievement stamps unlock stills.
Second promotional movie
Koei Tecmo released the second promotional movie together with the launch date. The announcement covers all four platforms, and the game carries a standard price of 8,580 yen including tax.
