Apple Kicks Off Indie Games Week with Mobile No Man's Sky

Apple's week-long App Store event brings seven titles to iOS and announces a mobile version of No Man's Sky, Polygon reports.

Apple launched a week-long App Store event called Indie Games Week, which kicked off on Monday and brought seven titles to iOS, including Vampire Crawlers and Sifu. The company also announced a mobile version of No Man's Sky during the event, according to Polygon.

Carson Oliver, the new head of App Store Worldwide, gave his first interview since taking the role to Polygon. Apple also introduced a new feature called Creative Assets that lets indie developers showcase artwork in search results and product page headers.

Before taking the role, Oliver succeeded Phil Schiller, who suddenly departed as head of App Store Worldwide in August 2026.

In October 2025, Hello Games announced it would bring No Man's Sky to iPhone and iPad later that month, a 5GB port containing all ten years of updates that can run on an iPhone 11.

Apple Arcade launched in 2019 amid skepticism that the mobile gaming service would not last long. Since then, Apple has continued its gaming efforts, including courting publishers like Capcom to release games on Mac and launching a gaming app.
