Arc Raiders swaps TTS for motion capture in Frozen Trail update

Embark Studios is adding full motion and facial capture to Arc Raiders, starting with the character Celeste, in the Frozen Trail update.

Embark Studios has announced it is introducing full motion capture and detailed facial capture for NPCs in Arc Raiders, beginning with the character Celeste. The change will replace the text-to-speech system previously used for Celeste, according to PCGamesN.

Celeste has been voiced by Diana Gardner since the character was introduced. Under the new system, Gardner's facial expressions and emotions will be captured for the game. The first look at the updated character will come in the Arc Raiders Frozen Trail trailer, releasing on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The Frozen Trail update itself drops on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Embark says future updates will bring more characters closer to their real-world actors across the Rust Belt.
