Assassin's Creed Hexe Casting Leak Reveals Petra, Mother Gertrud

Casting calls conducted between 2023 and recent months have reportedly revealed character descriptions and story elements from Assassin's Creed Hexe, the next mainline entry in Ubisoft's series. The material was first surfaced by MP1st and reported on by gamerant.com.

The protagonist is referred to in the casting material as "Petra," described as a strong-willed woman in her mid-twenties. A second character, "Mother Gertrud," is listed as a 65-year-old former village healer who was accused of witchcraft after a sickness spread through her community.

The casting documents also describe "Anna," a modern-day character presented as an ambitious career woman who does not share the German background of the historical cast. According to the same material, the game's story involves a group called The Order of the Lamb, which may be connected to the Templars, and sends the protagonist toward Augsburg.

Ubisoft announced Assassin's Creed Hexe with very little information, and none of the details above have been confirmed by the publisher. Previous reporting suggested the protagonist would be a woman accused of witchcraft in a 16th-century German setting, and earlier leaks pointed to Wurzburg as a location and to a character named Wolfgang serving as a mentor.

Setting and series context

Assassin's Creed Valhalla established the founding of the Templars well before the timeline of Assassin's Creed Hexe. No release date or platforms have been announced for the game.
