Battlefield 6 Season 5 Trailer Appears to Tease Dead Space Crossover

The Season 5 trailer shows two Dead Space engineers looking up at The Marker, alongside a Vegas Strip map launching October 13.

Battlefield 6's latest trailer for Season 5 appears to tease a Dead Space crossover, with a scene showing two Dead Space engineers looking up at The Marker, according to ign.com.

Season 5 also includes three new maps: Vegas Strip, Area 51, and one other. The Vegas Strip map launches on October 13. The season adds six new weapons and two new vehicles.

EA and DICE have not confirmed a Dead Space crossover, and the trailer only seemingly hints at one.

The tease arrives amid a quiet period for the Dead Space franchise. Earlier this year, series writer Chuck Beaver claimed sales were too low for EA to greenlight a Dead Space 4. The Dead Space remake, developed by EA-owned Motive Studio, was released in 2023 and was well-received, but did not do enough business to convince EA to invest in a follow-up. In October last year, series co-creator Glen Schofield told IGN he hoped to bring the franchise back to life despite EA's lack of interest, saying EA told him they were "not interested anymore."
