Battlefield Studios reverts Season 5 XP cut in Battlefield 6
Backend configuration changes had capped XP at 300 per minute after the Season 5 launch; Battlefield Studios says it has reverted them.
Battlefield Studios has reverted backend configuration changes in Battlefield 6 that unintentionally lowered XP earn rates across modes and hardware progression following the Season 5 launch, according to Eurogamer. The studio responded roughly two days after the XP issue appeared.
Players who tested the update found XP gain capped at a maximum of 300 XP per minute after the patch. Battlefield Studios said the backend changes have been reverted and that the team is monitoring telemetry to confirm earn rates return to their intended levels.
The XP problem arrived alongside the Season 5 launch, which this week added new maps, weapons, vehicles and gameplay changes.
A $30 shortcut alongside the fix
Also released for purchase with Season 5 was the Ultimate Shortcut Kit, priced at $30 / £25. The bundle fully levels all classes, 28 weapons and eight vehicles.
This is not the first time Battlefield 6's progression has needed adjustment. In June, Battlefield Studios changed XP Boosters to count down in-match rather than in real-world time, then reversed the change, and a similar reversal happened again that month. A few weeks later, Call of Duty announced that double XP tokens in Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone would only count down in matches.
