Bazzite asks community to test ROG XBOX Ally X20 and Acer Predator Atlas 8

Bazzite developers say support for both handhelds is in testing ahead of an upcoming release and want user reports before it is considered official.

Bazzite developers are testing support for the ROG XBOX Ally X20 and the Acer Predator Atlas 8 ahead of an upcoming release, according to gamingonlinux.com. The project has asked the community to try the builds on both devices and report any issues before the hardware is treated as properly supported.

On the ROG XBOX Ally X20, display support is described as complete, including VRR and HDR, while TDP control works and the back buttons are fully mappable. Sleep and wake are also working in testing.

RGB lighting on the Ally X20 is expected to arrive with upcoming drivers from the OGC. Fan control is planned to be handled through OGUI plugins, with Decky plugins such as Panel de Control suggested as a possible workaround in the meantime.

For the Acer Predator Atlas 8, enablement has begun with its first commits, and initial button mapping already allows the device to be used for games. Holding the Guide button together with the QAM/Predator button opens the side menus.

Some features are still missing on the Acer handheld: M1 and M2 buttons and the gyroscope do not yet work in Linux, and upstream drivers are needed for tap functionality, with work on those underway.
