Beyond Good & Evil 2 Adds Assassin's Creed Shadows Writer in Support Role
Rik Godwin, a writer on Assassin's Creed Shadows, says he has spent recent months supporting Beyond Good & Evil 2 at Ubisoft Bordeaux.
Rik Godwin, lead writer and associate narrative director at Ubisoft Bordeaux, said on Bluesky on September 22 that he has been working on Beyond Good & Evil 2 in a support and consultant role for the past few months.
Godwin was a writer on Assassin's Creed Shadows. His studio, Ubisoft Bordeaux, sits just south of Ubisoft Montpellier, which leads development on Beyond Good & Evil 2.
Ubisoft Bordeaux has taken the lead on its own projects, including Assassin's Creed Mirage and the Claws of Awaji expansion. Godwin's role on Beyond Good & Evil 2 is described as support rather than a lead position.
The sequel has had a long and public road. Ubisoft first announced Beyond Good & Evil 2 in May 2008, then re-revealed it at E3 2017. Gamespot noted the project's history, and Ubisoft posted hints that development was ongoing in November 2025 and January 2026.
