Krafton India renames BGMI Lite as BGMI Air, pre-registrations pass 10 million
The lightweight mobile title hit 10 million pre-registrations on the Google Play Store in about 50 days and is due to launch in India this year.
Krafton India renamed its lightweight mobile title BGMI Lite as BGMI Air on October 15, 2026, and said cumulative pre-registrations for the game have surpassed 10 million, according to techm.kr.
Pre-registration opened on the Google Play Store for users in India on August 25, 2026, and crossed the 10 million mark in roughly 50 days.
BGMI Air is built to run the BGMI experience on low- to mid-spec mobile devices, with an installation size of around 1GB. Krafton said players will be able to use their existing BGMI accounts, so the game is played in the same environment.
The title is scheduled for an official release in India within the year, the company said.

Battlegrounds Mobile India, better known as BGMI, was released in 2021 in India, where it has recorded more than 260 million cumulative downloads and a cumulative user count of 100 million. Mobile games account for more than 80% of total game market revenue in the country.
