Car Park Capital Hits Steam Early Access With Overwhelmingly Positive Rating

Car Park Capital launched in early access on PC via Steam on October 9, 2026, according to automaton-media.com. The satirical management game, developed by Hilkojj Interactive and published by MicroProse Software, has quickly reached an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating on Steam with a 97% positive user score.

The game is a top-down city-building simulation with a 1990s retro visual style. Players take on the role of employees of the car industry corporation Big Auto, with the goal of making residents car-dependent. At launch, three maps (scenarios) with different challenges are playable.

Core mechanics include buying land, demolishing buildings, constructing parking lots, and setting parking fees freely. An eviction command moves downtown residents to newly built suburban housing, forcing them to drive. Players can also purchase land containing bus stops and subway stations, pave over them, and remove public transit entirely.

Additional options allow players to place car advertisements, car shops, and drive-throughs on paved land. They can build riot police facilities to arrest protesters and set patrol routes for police and advertising vehicles. Player reports mention using pollution from car factories to kill trees and then acquiring the polluted land for free.

Early Access Roadmap

According to a pre-launch announcement from MicroProse Software on October 9, 2026, the developer plans about 10 months of early access, aiming for a full release in summer 2027. That version will add new maps, more construction and customization options, stronger strategy elements, and events and disasters.

Car Park Capital is priced at 2,160 yen and includes a 10% launch discount until October 24. The game supports Japanese in-game text.
