Caravana 2000 adds co-op to Steam demo, BGS2026 booth shows 4-player split-screen

2 Wedges updated the Steam demo of Caravana 2000 to add co-op play on October 9, the first day of BGS2026, according to 4gamer.net. The studio also showed a four-player split-screen co-op demo of the game at its booth at the event.

Co-op in the current demo is local only and does not support online play. Steam Remote Play can be used to play with friends who are not in the same room.

Caravana 2000 is a first-person action game in the Vampire Survivors style: The Player runs through crowds of Enemy characters and survives until the time limit. The demo lets players pick up Weapons and items and combine up to four of them into their own build.

Booth visitors could play as a Character named "Satanic," who has high movement and attack speed, a double jump and a double dash. The demo's Character select screen still shows several silhouette-only slots.

Brazilian pop-culture references and post-launch plans

The game draws on Brazilian pop culture: it takes inspiration from the illuminated-truck dance group Carreta Furacao, features the Character Bobao based on the 1980s children's TV Character Fofao, includes a boss based on Dollynho, the mascot of Brazilian soda brand Dolly, and references the telenovela Avenida Brasil on its game over screen. It also includes a homage to Hatsune Miku.

The developers plan to keep adding items, characters and maps. Co-developer Pedro Oliveira started the project at the beginning of this year, when he rode on a Carreta Furacao truck during a trip with a friend to a small coastal town; development has been under way for about a year.
