CD Projekt Red Drops Windows 10 Support for Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077
CDPR has stopped testing The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 on Windows 10, no longer guaranteeing either game runs correctly on the older OS.
CD Projekt Red has stopped testing both The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077 on Windows 10, according to gamerant.com. The studio no longer guarantees that either game will work correctly on the older operating system, and The Witcher 3 Remastered is now its supported version going forward.
The Witcher 3's official PC requirements now list 64-bit Windows 11 as the minimum operating system, alongside an SSD, DirectX 12, and at least 12GB of RAM. The change shifts the baseline for a game that originally shipped at a time when Windows 10 was the standard gaming platform.
What players can expect
Players still running Windows 10 will not receive guaranteed support for either title. Existing installations may continue to function, but CD Projekt Red's testing and maintenance efforts are now focused on Windows 11.
The Windows 11 system requirements were introduced ahead of The Witcher 3 Remastered's release, as CD Projekt Red prepared the game for its next major chapter.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered launched on September 29, 2026 as a free upgrade with enhanced visuals, improved combat, overhauled animations, and cross-platform mod support. It includes both the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions for existing owners.
Songs of the Past is in development as The Witcher 3's third expansion, with a scheduled 2027 launch. It returns Geralt as protagonist and introduces the region of Letten.
