Crimson Desert Enhanced DLC Charting the Unknown launches on Xbox

Pearl Abyss released the Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown DLC on October 30, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, according to news.xbox.com. The expansion supports Xbox Play Anywhere.

Xbox players can try Crimson Desert Enhanced free for five hours between October 30, 2026 and January 7, 2027.

Charting the Unknown adds three new stories, one each for Cliff, Unka and Demian. It also introduces ocean exploration: players can dive underwater to find ruins, treasure chests, creatures and mounts, and build their own ship. A new combat-focused area, the Garden of Trials, pits players against bosses in succession.

Characters can deepen bonds with some residents of Pywel, leading to romance and marriage. Housing is expanded so players can build a house from scratch, laying out rooms, walls and windows, and take ownership of some castles. At bases they have liberated, players can run facilities such as dining halls and blacksmiths, setting up equipment and companions and choosing goods to sell.

Context

Crimson Desert launched in March, and its world has expanded with each update since then. In August, patch version 2.00 arrived as a free update adding new story scenes and more voice and language support, alongside Crimson Desert Enhanced, which collects all updates released since launch. Ocean exploration had been requested by many players before the DLC.
