Culdcept Begins arrives on Steam at 6,380 yen with new maps

NEO'S has released the PC version of the card-battler, adding three battle maps, ten book cover designs and a free update promised for Switch.

NEO'S released the PC (Steam) version of Culdcept Begins on October 27, 2026, bringing the card-battling board game to a new platform with extra content. The Steam edition is priced at 6,380 yen and is 10% off until November 11.

The PC version adds three new battle maps: X, Fortune Array and Holy Hammer. It also introduces ten new book cover designs — five drawn from the developers' favorite creature series and five based on maps. According to gamespark.jp, the selections were made by members of the development team, including the series producer and the game designer.

The card encyclopedia in this version reads card names aloud, and three usability changes target battles: improved visibility of character positions, easier card selection in info screens and clearer display of branch directions.

NEO'S said a free update carrying the same additions and fixes is planned for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions soon.

Series history

Omiya Soft developed the first Culdcept game in 1997, and Culdcept Begins is the first new entry in the series in about 10 years. The Switch and Switch 2 versions launched first on July 16, 2026, and have shipped more than 100,000 units cumulatively, including download copies.
