Cyberpunk 2077 2.5 Update Adds Dual Wielding and mod.io Modding

CD Projekt Red has released the 2.5 update for Cyberpunk 2077, timing the patch with the airing of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. The studio detailed the update in an official video, according to gamemeca.com.

The headline addition is a dual-wielding perk line in the Cool tree, made up of 1 new perk and 4 supporting perks. It lets players hold Power Pistols and Power Revolvers in both hands, with reduced damage and bullet speed as the trade-off. At perk level 2, a quick melee attack triggers the “Heywood Hurricane” action, firing both held weapons at once.

The update also ties into the anime. A new side job linked to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 can be picked up from Wakako and rewards Vick Kingsley's gear, and appearance items themed on the series' characters — including Vick Kingsley's glasses — were added. Music from Edgerunners 1 and 2 has been added to the in-game radio.

Customization, shops and mods

New clothing collections and cyberware painting are sold at shops including Maxxiwear, Jinguji and Netwatch. Some hairstyles previously limited to NPCs are now available to the player, and hand cyberware such as Gorilla Arms, Monowire and Mantis Blades can be customized. A merchant called Glamdoc with 5 stores was also added.

Cross-platform modding based on mod.io was introduced, available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. The patch further adds new side quests exploring Night City, 12 Minor Arcana tarot cards with related quests, and a set of convenience and technical updates.
