Dawn of War 4 closed beta drew double the expected players, 80% returned
King Art Games said the five-day test was the largest playtest in the game's history, and survey responses will feed its final month of development.
King Art Games said 80% of players who took part in the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 closed beta reconnected to play multiple times, in a Steam notice reported by inven.co.kr on November 2, 2026. The studio also said the five-day test was the largest playtest in the game's history, with participant numbers more than double its expectations.
The developer collected thousands of survey responses during the beta and is putting them toward the final month of development before launch. Dozens of outlet previews and hundreds of hours of creator gameplay footage appeared during the beta week.
King Art Games said more information will follow in that remaining month, including news for players who enjoy unit painting and news about the Last Stand mode.
Long road to release
The team has been working on the game for nearly six years. A closed alpha test last year and the player response since then have motivated the developers, they said.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 launches on December 3 on PC via Steam. Deep Silver is the publisher.
