Deadlock adds Violet, a paint-themed hero with wall-building abilities
Valve released Violet as Deadlock's newest playable hero on October 17, 2026, with abilities that block sightlines and slow enemies.
Valve has added Violet to Deadlock's roster as a playable hero, the studio announced on October 17, 2026. The character is built around paint: her basic attacks fire globs from a brush at a slow fire rate.
Violet's kit centres on Living Ink, which empowers her next three shots. Those shots can be steered manually and splash for bullet and spirit damage, and hits reduce her ability and item cooldowns. While the ability is active she can drag to paint a solid stroke that blocks characters and projectiles and doubles as a climbable path.
Her other abilities control space. Flow State sends out a brush that leaves a ground trail granting extra slide distance to Violet and her allies while slowing enemies by 60% for two seconds. Still Life marks a targeted enemy within 25 meters, dealing damage over time and ending in a burst and a one-second stun; picking up the finished sketch grants a permanent stat bonus.
Abstract Landscape raises an 18-meter-wide circle of ink walls that block vision, give allies spirit power and reveal enemies inside. Enemies who leave the area shatter a panel, taking damage along with a two-second silence and a 30% slow. PCGamesN reported the release.
Violet is the fifth new hero added to Deadlock. Valve previously released the City Never Sleeps update for the game.
