Demon's Night Fever Launches; Producer Reveals 20 Million Yen Loan
The training RTA simulation RPG from Drecom and Arc System Works is out for PC, PS5 and Switch, and its producer says he covered a budget shortfall with a secret bank loan.
Demon's Night Fever, the training RTA simulation RPG developed by Drecom and published by Arc System Works, released on October 22, 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. The game costs 4,950 yen including tax in both packaged and download versions.
On release day, producer Sohei Niikawa posted on X that a budget shortfall arose during development and that he borrowed 20 million yen from a bank to cover it without telling his wife, according to gamespark.jp.
Niikawa also said he plans to make 66 games by age 75, and that the plan could collapse if Demon's Night Fever does not sell. He asked players to buy the game as if it were a crowdfunding campaign.
The game is described as a training RTA simulation RPG in which both allies and enemies kill, and characters grow stronger the more they die.
From Nippon Ichi Software to Super Nichi
Niikawa formerly served as president of Nippon Ichi Software, where he worked on the Marl Kingdom (Rhapsody) series, the Disgaea series and the Hayarigami series. He left the company in 2022 and in April 2025 founded Super Nichi, after which he began working on numerous games.
