Disbond brings zombie FPS demo to Steam Next Fest

A solo-developed multiplayer zombie shooter enters Steam Next Fest with a playable demo, launching players into a 20-second countdown before the first infection.

Solo developer Disbond is taking part in Steam Next Fest, the week-long showcase running from October 19 to October 26, with a playable demo of its multiplayer zombie FPS now available on Steam, according to inven.co.kr.

The setup is simple: every player starts as a human, and one becomes a zombie 20 Seconds after the start. Anyone bitten by that zombie turns into the next one, so the human side shrinks as the match goes on.

Both humans and zombies have their own classes and skills, giving each side distinct roles during a round.

Survival and escape modes

The game ships with survival maps where players install barricades and hold out, alongside escape maps where they run to get out.

The developer said the focus was on fun over realism, citing Unreal Tournament, Doom, Quake and Counter-Strike 1.6 as inspirations. Those older arena shooters shape the pacing rather than any military-simulation approach.
