Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Launches, Players Report Brutal Difficulty

Capcom's expansion adds the new region of Norgan with the Forsaken Dominion questline and Lost Rites dungeons.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen has been released, bringing a new region, questline and dungeons to Capcom's action RPG. According to gamesradar.com, players are reporting that the expansion is significantly harder than the base game.

The expansion introduces the new region of Norgan, which contains the Forsaken Dominion main questline and the Lost Rites dungeons. Ahead of launch, Capcom recommended Lost Rites for level 20 characters and Forsaken Dominion for level 40 characters.

Returning director, higher review scores

Kento Kinoshita returned as director for Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, having previously directed Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. The expansion also received a higher review score than the first game's DLC.

Dragon's Dogma 2 itself was released in 2024, and the wait for Dark Arisen lasted two and a half years. A separate Dragon's Dogma 2 update lowered the PC system requirements and improved performance.
