EA confirms Fight Night boxing series is returning

EA announced the revival of its Fight Night boxing series on a newly created Twitter account, without giving a release date or title.

EA announced that its Fight Night boxing series is coming back. The announcement was made from a newly created Twitter account for the series and did not include a release date, platforms or a title.

The post said that everyone who stayed in their corner is being rewarded with Fight Night's return. It also featured an image of boxing gloves hanging over an empty canvas with the caption "the fight is never over".

GamesRadar reported on the announcement. EA did not provide further details about the new game.

The series has not seen a new entry since the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 era. Fight Night Champion launched in 2011, and Fight Night Round 4 was among the best-reviewed games on those consoles.

The revival follows EA's return to College Football with College Football 25, which saw broad acclaim and huge sales, and to Skate, which remains in early access. After three College Football games, community mood is shifting, particularly over a controversial microtransaction rollout in College Football 27.

A large stake in EA is now owned by Saudi Arabia, which regularly promotes boxing matches as part of its annual Riyadh Season events. Watchdog groups regularly accuse the country's Public Investment Fund of using sports and entertainment to whitewash its human rights record.
