Echo Weaver Launches Today on Xbox, PC and Game Pass

Moonlight Kids' knowledge-based Metroidvania Echo Weaver arrives on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Game Pass, published by Akupara Games.

Echo Weaver launches today, October 8, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Game Pass, according to Xbox Wire. The knowledge-based Metroidvania is created by Moonlight Kids and published by Akupara Games.

The game is set in the space colony Provenance following an event known as the Collapse. Each cycle gives the player only minutes to live.

Akupara Games describes Echo Weaver as a knowledge-based Metroidvania rather than a roguelike: nothing in the game is random or procedurally generated, so progress depends on what the player learns between cycles.

Moonlight Kids was founded as a fully remote three-person studio in 2018, with its members spread across three states. In 2021, the studio released its debut title, Wild at Heart, which received a Day of the Devs slot and an IGF nomination.

The team discussed Echo Weaver's design and development challenges on a recent Akupara 10th Anniversary Livestream. A demo of the game was sent to Akupara Games' Head of Publishing, Buddy Solá, two years ago, and the project originally began as a much darker, mature-rated game with brutal finishers before the team changed the tone.
