Oliver Twins Announce Eggcellent Dizzy Collection for Sega Genesis
The three-game cartridge, including the unreleased 1992 NES title Panic! Dizzy, is planned for 2027 with a Kickstarter to follow.
The Oliver Twins have announced The Eggcellent Dizzy Collection, a physical Sega Genesis cartridge bundling three Dizzy games, according to gamerant.com. The developers plan to release it in 2027 to mark the franchise's 40th anniversary.
The cartridge includes Dizzy the Adventurer, Go! Dizzy Go! and Panic! Dizzy. Panic! Dizzy is a previously unreleased NES puzzle game originally made in 1992.
A Kickstarter campaign to fund the collection will launch soon. No specific release date or pricing has been announced.
Trailers for the collection show visual enhancements for Dizzy the Adventurer and Go! Dizzy Go!, though it is unclear whether the gameplay itself has changed.
The announcement follows the Oliver Twins' confirmation that they used generative AI to develop Ultra Dizzy, a separate new installment with no release date. They have not addressed whether AI was used for The Eggcellent Dizzy Collection.
Retro roots
The Dizzy franchise began with small indie games in 1987 and is considered one of the most influential in British video game history. The brothers have revisited several older games and spin-offs for this package.
