Bethesda names The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel, confirms Hammerfell
The title was revealed during Bethesda Game Studios' 40th anniversary celebrations, but Jason Schreier says the game is still more than two years away.
Bethesda Game Studios has revealed the official title of its next role-playing game as The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel. The name was announced during the studio's 40th anniversary celebrations.
The studio also confirmed that the game is set in Hammerfell, the region of Tamriel whose capital is Sentinel. The subtitle takes its name from that city.
There is no release window yet, and journalist Jason Schreier said on Bluesky that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still more than two years away, according to screenrant.com.
To mark the announcement, The Elder Scrolls Online is raising XP gains in the Alik'r Desert, the Hammerfell zone in the online game.
Announced years ago
The Elder Scrolls 6 was first announced in 2018 alongside Starfield. Todd Howard has previously said he regretted announcing the game in 2018 and told players to pretend it had not been announced. Earlier in 2026, Schreier said the game was at least two to three years away.
