Coin Crew Games announced that Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School will launch on PlayStation 5 on November 5, 2026, according to the PlayStation Blog.
The sequel expands the series into a fully explorable open-world campus filled with quests, puzzles and secrets. Couch and online co-op play are available from the start across the full campus, story and puzzles.
The campus is divided into several distinct sections, among them the Headmaster's Tower and the Humanities Campus, which returns in an expanded form after the library was burned down in the first game.
Puzzles are not confined to rooms, and the campus itself rewards exploration. The Humanities Campus is not accessible immediately but can be glimpsed around campus, including a keyhole-shaped fountain, and keyhole embellishments are hidden throughout the Academy.
In October 2025, the studio pointed to the Headmaster's Office — the setting of the first escape in the original Escape Academy — as a visual target for the sequel's upgraded art style.
