Blue Brain Games and Curly Eye Games released a Steam demo of their co-op escape game Expendabots for Steam Next Fest on October 20, 2026, according to gamemeca.com. The demo is the Steam version and supports one to four players.
The build includes the Biolab dungeon, tutorials covering controls, crafting and escaping, and progression up to level 5. Players also start from the Airship starting point, giving them a first look at how a run begins.
Enemies in Expendabots can hear players' proximity voice chat, so teams have to move quietly to avoid being detected. Islands and dungeons are procedurally generated, and players must escape before the island disappears.
Progression is built around filament, which players collect to 3D print equipment, emergency power cells and decoys. Downed robots' mechanical hearts can be recovered or returned to newly 3D printed bodies.
