Expression Games to open Manchester studio, remote work stays

Expression Games has announced a physical studio in Manchester, citing staff and client needs, while keeping remote work and flexible hours.

Expression Games has announced it will open a physical studio in Manchester. CEO Errol Ismail said the decision responds to the needs of staff and co-development clients, according to gamesindustry.biz.

The studio will not mandate office attendance or set working hours, and will continue to support remote working. Ismail said slightly over half of the current team lives close enough to use the office.

Expression said its game Hell Let Loose: Vietnam has sold a million units since its release in August. Ismail also confirmed the firm spent two years on co-development work with Fuse Games on Star Wars Galactic Racer.

The Manchester office will support future co-development work, with the studio keeping data on its own site. Expression also plans to back talent development through partnerships with local universities, including Manchester Metropolitan University.
