Fable reboot drops co-op multiplayer, goes single-player only
The new Fable will not carry over the cooperative play that appeared in Fable 2 and Fable 3.
The upcoming Fable reboot will be a single-player-only game and will not include cooperative multiplayer, according to polygon.com.
That marks a change from earlier entries in the series: Fable 2 and Fable 3 both shipped with co-op play, and the new Fable will not.
The two games handled a second player differently. Fable 2 introduced cooperative play with a second player called a Henchman, who was restricted from actions such as opening chests.
Fable 3 went further, making the second player a fully equal Hero with customizable appearance, inventory and skills. The game's second half, the quest Weight of the World, has players raise money over one in-game year to fund an army.
